BIO
Note: For all of you in-the-know individuals who have read over many atrtist Bio's & Bibliographies, try not to judge this book by his Bio; it's not the norm. Not the norm is what has made me the artist I am. I have no formal training and have never subjected myself to contesting against another artist.
I began painting in Kindergarden at the age of four. I remember to this day my first Finger Painting, how I watched as my hands and the colors that oozed through my little fingers created such amazingly beautiful, dreamy, cloudlike shapes and sense of depth and movement. I felt empowered.--- But, alas, my efforts soon turned into a nasty brown mess.
I convinsed my mother to buy me a water color set, and at this very early age, began experimenting in an effort to capture and preserve the beautiful, vibrantly colorful, nebulous forms I fell so in love with that first day.
Though the many and varied other interests of youth captured my attention equally, I continued to paint and draw through those years. At age ninteen I shared the lease on a 3 bedroom house in Norht Miam with 2 highschool buddies who were also artists and musicians like myself. It was there in that creatively rich environment that I began to understand and cultivate my artistic voice.
As I entered my twenties more and more people were showing their respecy and appreciation for my work and wanted to possess them. Some I sold for next to nothing, others I gave as gifts to friends who loved couldn't affordthe price, most of my work I traded in barter.
I had come up in an abussive and alcoholic household, which had a devistating and lasting negative effect on my life and hindered my social developement. As I progressed as an Artist I was at the same time dwindleing away from prolonged drug use, which ultimately resulted in my landing homeless at the age of 25.
After I had recovered from all this, I returned to my work having been idle for several years. I burned all of my previous work because of the bitter season of my life it represented to me. I secured a studio space in West Palm Beach, Florida and began working with renewed vigor and ethusiasm, selling my work to and through a number of Galleries, while sustaining myself by contracting my services out to Stained Glass Studios up and down the East Coast.
But, in addition to my work, my life had taken on a whole new spiritual dimension, which led to quite a magnificent journey, one that has carried me the length and bredth of our nation, and into remote places around the globe. This new spiritual dimension of my life so possessed me, that I fully dedicated myself to this pursuit over all others, and took a sabatical from my work that would prove to last nearly twenty years to the month.
In 1988 I relocated to live amongst the gentle rolling wooded hills of East Texas, where I reside to this day. I had crossed through numerous opened doors which resulted in a career path in the Insureance Industry, an Adjuster specializing in Catastrophic events.
After twelve years in the industry, I quite my lucrative career, built and furnished both an Art & Music Production Studio on my woodlands property, and dove headlong back into my work, the result of which you find here.
